Creating a Mii or many Miis is a fun and unique part of the Nintendo Wii console. It is a way of creating avatars that are used when you play games. An avatar is basically a characterization of you or a fantasy character that you identify with. These characters can be used when you play games or they can be sent traveling to other Wii consoles where other people can use them to play their own games. They are a way to personalize your game playing and a way to meet other people in the wider Nintendo Wii community. This article will detail how to create a Mii.

After selecting the Mii channel you will be taken to the Mii plaza. The plaza is where all your existing Miis will hang out. Click the Mii create button on the left of the screen.

If you want to create a Mii character quickly then you can go for a partially constructed character. This will have the body and the main features of the face already created. You can then add bits and pieces to the face to give it the look you want.

When you get more comfortable with creating Mii’s you may choose to create one from scratch. This is a bit more involved but more fun. You can really let your imagination go wild and come up with some distinctive characters.

Starting from scratch, you are asked to select the gender and enter personal details, like the name, age and nickname. This is all done with a graphical interface so you see your Mii character evolve as you make a selection.

Once you have got through the personal details you are asked to select the height and weight of your body. You are then asked to work on the head. You can select a head shape and then many more details of the face.

For instance, you can select the color of the skin, eyes and hair. You can select the type of hairstyle that suits your character. You can give it distinctively featured eyes, nose and mouth. You can add line on the face around the eyes or the cheeks. You can add accessories like sunglasses or ordinary glasses, beards, goatees, and mustaches.

As you make each selection your Mii takes on that selection. You can chop and change certain looks until your creation is perfect. You can also select whether your Mii can mingle. This means it can travel to other Wii consoles. You will find the more you create a unique Mii the more fun and enjoyment you will get when you have them playing in one of the games.
